WOODTURNING COURSES
Woodturning courses are offered to you in the " Au Tour à Bois Inc. " workshop.
INTRODUCTION TO WOODTURNING
The course lasts a whole day (approximately 8 hours, 4 of these being hands-on). The course content is :
- Description and origin of the wood lathe.
- Equipment needed and optional items.
- Woodturning chisels and gouges sharpening.
- Protection, safety and wood dust control.
- Various aspects of turning and different techniques.
- Dry wood vs. green wood.
- Sanding and finishing.
- Revision of important issues.
This course is intended for people who wish to learn about woodturning before spending on equipment,
and also for those who need a refresher course on basic woodturning techniques.
The fee per person is CA$150 (plus taxes) from Monday to Friday, CA$175 (plus taxes) on Saturday or Sunday;
one meal, drinks and materials required for this course are included in these amounts. You will also get a copy of my woodturning video (VHS or DVD).
A non-refundable deposit of $25.00 (cheque or money order) is required prior to the course. Upon receipt of the deposit, we will contact you to confirm the
date.
